About Innovation Day

Student Lead Projects

Innovation Day is a yearly activity where student make an innovative project and submit it. We have a class called Innovation  Lab where we have 50-60 days to  work on our project, but it is not required to be in Innovation Lab to be in Innovation Day.

What I have been doing

This was when I was working on my old project, before changing it. I talked about games I had been inspired by.

After changing the project, I was a lot happier and was more efficient.

2026

The project I am currently working on is a finished version of the game jam project I worked on in January. I was originally going to be a new game, but I wasn't having fun or motivation for that project, so I decided to make sure I can finish a game a work on Delivery.

What is the game about?

An unnamed group hired you to deliver resources to communities in need during a nuclear winter after an attack. Your job is to make sure everything stays intact and that the resources get to where they need to go. Once you get to the end, you get a score based on how good you do.

Innovation Day.

I set up my project near the front of the library. I was excited. People did enjoy my project, however, I realized it was not their favorite.

I did not win, but I had fun.

I understand now, many things. How Innovation Day works, how to make a successful Innovation Day project, and how to market the project better.

I know people do not have a lot of time at each stand, and do not want to spend a lot of time at each one.

Because of the short time, I need to make a project where players can have fun, understand the project, and play it in 30-60 seconds.

My project was too long. The game was meant to last at least 150 seconds. It was also kind of complex.

Also, I should plan ahead for the stand and bring a nice table cloth, monitors, etc.

All in all, though, the project that won really deserved it.  The MOVIE!

But I did really have fun and I am excited for INNOVATION DAY 2027!

Next year I plan to make a game, but I'm also considering a movie.

Also, I have a video on Innovation Day :)
